The flame is delivered into the bottom of the kiln, at or below floor level, and expelled out the top in updraft kilns. The firebox, damper, and stack area are the three essential components of an updraft kiln. The flame enters via the firebox. The exhaust (and, by extension, the kiln's environment) is controlled by the damper, which is located at the top of the kiln. Between the firebox and the damper is the stack area, which is where the pots are placed.

Although updraft kilns are less fuel-efficient than downdraft kilns, updraft kilns account for the majority of commercially manufactured fuel-burning kilns. This is mostly owing to their ease of construction, packing, and shipping. Visit our source link to find out more about pottery.
